It goes without saying that any business, any professional, heck, any person who actively uses the internet today knows the importance of maintaining an online presence. Be it posting updates to a Facebook profile, tweeting, or putting together a corporate blog, we are all responsible for content creation, even on the most minuscule level.
- 93% of B2B marketers are using content marketing as part of their strategy
- B2B marketers use an average of 13 content marketing tactics, with 81% or this being articles on websites, and 76% being blogs
- 43% of B2B companies use both in-house and outsourced content
But here’s the big question: if we are all actively creating content, how can businesses, professionals and even personal bloggers know or learn how to create exceptional content for any audience? And ensure that there is no limit to the content they can produce?
We did say it was a big question, and perhaps just one article won’t wholly provide an answer. It’s ok. The internet is a large place. So now what? Well, we can all take a few deep breaths and remember that digital content creation is easy and there are several excellent methods that can assist with providing limitless content, no matter who your consumers are:
Do your research
Only you know the kind of content your audience wants to consume, and the best way to discern this is by researching your audience demographic and Internet usage habits.:

Some sites and companies can get away with long articles that are widely shared and read due to their specialization. Others have found that marketing via white papers and long form reports are to what their readers will flock. And others still have learned, perhaps via trial and error, that they need to look to video or podcasts, or even outsource content marketing because readers are most interested in video or graphic content beyond their capacity. In other words, making sure you maintain a balance with your content means that it will speak to the largest range of consumer. Which leads to…
Look into all channels
Writing a clear, targeted blog is a great way to speak to your audience, but it’s not the only way to send your message. By looking to try and use video, infographics or audio content, you make your content bigger. And what do we mean by this? One blog post can turn into a video discussion, therefore sending the same message, but perhaps enticing yet another consumer. From there, a sound byte from the transcript can form the basis of a podcast, which connects with individuals who prefer audio. And then everything can be truncated and shared via social media, further maximizing the content and its reach. Long story short, there is more than one way to transmit your message, and this really means the only limit to content creation is your imagination.
Enlist the help of experts and your peers
Sometimes getting a little bit of outside help can boost content creation. You’re adding a different voice and a unique personality to your brand, and enabling another to give their two cents. A discussion with another professional can open your eyes to new content creation channels, not to mention they might be able to offer ways to expand upon existing topics or items: think guest blogging opportunities, video series’ or interactive, social media campaigns.
And always, always remember, quality over quantity
The only limit to your content creation is its quality. Ideally, all collateral will stand the test of time, and be shared over and over again. This posits yourself or your company as an authority in its field, and also means you have created great product that furthers your brand. Don’t simply churn out posts or videos just to have more and more content online; no one will read it, and the sloppier items will be lost in the general Internet noise. Your content will have no limit if it is shared, and promoted and read — not to mention that you will become an authority and your brand will shine. Take the time to really dot all the “i”s, cross the “t”s and focus your energy on top-of-the-line work. Your efforts are sure to pay off, and your content’s reach will truly be limitless.
