Lists and Segments

[00:01] Welcome to the final onboarding video! With this last piece of the puzzle, you’ll be ready to conquer any project with ease using Audienti. Let’s jump right in.

[00:08] Let’s say you want to build some targets for an engagement campaign. How can you do that in Audienti. There’s two ways lists and segments.

  • Lists are the manual way. Think of a list like a folder to collecting mentions or prospects. It’s simple to add a mention or prospect to a list. Click the add to list button on the item and click the list you want to add the item to and you’re done. You can have as many lists as you want. So use list to allow quick organization of prospects and mentions.
  • Next is segments. Think of segments like a filter of the raw mentioned or prospect stream. If the filter matches, it gets added to the segment. You configure a segment ahead of time and then items get added to the segment automatically. The best way to understand a segment is by example. Let’s say you’re interested in people that are CEOs and are talking about vegan food. You’ve got vegan related keywords in your project.
    • How you’d configure the segment is like this.
      • Select a segment type of “prospects”
      • Select any prospect that is a kind of “person.” We want people, not companies.
      • Select prospects for the keyword name of a mention contains the word “vegan.” This search is the keywords of the mentions to make sure they have the word “vegan.”
      • And lastly, select the profile descriptions that contain the word “CEO” in them. And then give it a name. Let’s call it “vegan CEOs” and hit create. Anyone matching all this criteria will now automatically get added to your segment. Cool, huh? This is powerful.
