Taxes play a pivotal role in building a thriving society. Wherever our products fall under taxable categories, we ensure to collect and remit the appropriate consumption tax to the respective local, state, or federal governments. All of our actions are governed and controlled by our billing partner. If your billing address is within the jurisdictions listed below, your invoice will include an additional line for sales tax or VAT. Please note that the subscription prices on our Audienti website are exclusive of these taxes.
The tax rate and its regulations are set by individual jurisdictions and can differ based on whether Audienti is being used for business or personal purposes. We’ll keep this list updated as regulations evolve.
Jurisdictions Where We Handle Taxes in the USA
For Audienti customers residing in the following states, we collect sales tax:
- Alaska (specific jurisdictions only)
- Chicago (Illinois)
- District of Columbia
- New Mexico
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- West Virginia
Audienti is exempt from sales tax in the USA, thanks to the Internet Tax Freedom Act (ITFA).
If your organization is tax-exempt, please provide us with the relevant state-specific tax exemption documentation. An IRS tax exemption letter might not suffice as not all federal exemptions are recognized by every state.
Within the EU
For direct sales to EU-based customers, we collect VAT. While most of our applications cater to businesses, Audienti is designed for both businesses and consumers. If you’re an Audienti customer with a VAT identification number, inform us, and we’ll apply a reverse charge for VAT on your invoice.
Countries within the EU include:
- United Kingdom
For our Canadian customers, we collect GST/HST (and PST where applicable):
- British Columbia (+ PST)
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Northwest Territories
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
Updating Your Billing Address
If you need to adjust your billing details, especially if you’re not in a taxable jurisdiction, you can manage that within your Audienti account settings. This might require re-entering your credit card details. For guidance on updating your credit card information in Audienti, please refer to the “Account Settings” section.
