Alta (Katie) vs hiring a junior SDR: is it worth it, and when does a person still win?

Alta's Katie is an AI SDR agent that prospects, sends across email, LinkedIn and text, and books meetings. Alta publishes no rate card: it quotes by volume, team size and channels. A junior SDR costs a median $80K OTE and about three months of ramp, but can carry real conversations. Whether Alta is worth it depends on its quote, who runs it, and what it costs per opportunity your team accepts.

Which fits your situation?

Choose Alta if

you want an AI agent platform covering outbound (and possibly inbound) across email, LinkedIn and calls, you're comfortable buying on a custom quote, and someone on your team will own setup and the leads it hands off.

Hire a junior SDR if

you want prospecting as a permanent in-house role and a bench for future AEs, your deals need real live conversations, and you have a manager with time to coach through about three months of ramp.

Choose Audienti if

you want outreach from the credible people already on your team, run by operators rather than by your team, measured on opportunities your team accepts, without adding tools or headcount.

Audienti is the wrong fit if

you want to run the software yourself, volume is the goal, you don't have a proven offer, or you can't commit to a 90-day term.

What is Alta's Katie?

Alta calls Katie "your new AI SDR Agent that never sleeps, always follows up" (Katie page). Alta says Katie analyzes your CRM and 50+ data sources and signals to find your ICP and prospects, sends follow-ups across email, LinkedIn and text, personalizes messages from research data, and handles meeting scheduling.

Katie is one of three named agents on Alta's platform, alongside Alex (inbound qualification) and Luna (growth and orchestration). Alta's FAQ says the agents share context and work across email, LinkedIn, calls and more (FAQ). Alta's page lists the tools it says Katie replaces (Apollo, ZoomInfo, Salesloft and others) and headline results such as "3x increase in qualified leads" and "80% reduction in costs." Those are Alta's claims; we haven't verified them.

How much does Alta cost without a rate card?

Short answer: Alta doesn't say. On October 29, 2026, Alta's pricing page was a quote form headed "Pricing that scales with your growth," promising "pay for what you use," free CRM and 50+ tool integrations, and white-glove onboarding included. It asks your team size (1-10, 11-500, 501-2,000, 2,000+) and goals, and says the team will be in touch within three business days. Alta's FAQ says pricing "depends on your volume, team size, and channels used (like email, LinkedIn, or calls)."

We found no free trial, self-serve checkout, minimum term or seat price on Alta's pages. Revenueflow's read of Alta's pages reached the same conclusion and notes that Alta's blog describes a platform licence rather than per-seat pricing (Revenueflow, updated September 19, 2026).

Third-party estimates, not Alta prices: Agent Finder's review lists about $2,000 a month for a Starter tier (single user, email and LinkedIn) and about $3,500 a month for Growth (multi-user, all channels including phone), as of July 20, 2026, and says Alta offers a pilot period (Agent Finder). We could not confirm those numbers on Alta's site. Use them only to sanity-check a quote.

What to ask on the quote call: which of volume, team size and channels moves the price as you grow; the minimum term and pilot terms; what's included in onboarding; and who on your team reviews messages and works the leads Katie hands off.

Alta vs hiring a junior SDR: is it worth it?

Start with the hire. The Bridge Group's 2025 report puts median SDR on-target earnings at $80,000 ($55K base, $25K variable), an average ramp of 3.0 months, and average tenure of 1.9 years (Bridge Group). Betts Recruiting puts entry-level SDR base pay in tech at $55,000–$70,000 (Betts 2025). Add benefits, tools, recruiting and manager time. These are the same figures we use across our comparison pages; they were last checked on October 5, 2026, not rechecked for this page.

Then Alta. If Agent Finder's estimates are close, Katie costs a fraction of that hire. But you won't know until Alta quotes you, and the quote isn't the whole cost: someone still configures targeting, reviews what goes out, and follows up on the leads it routes to your team.

A person still wins when the deal needs a real conversation (objections, multi-threading, live calls), when you want to grow your own future AEs, or when your offer and messaging aren't proven yet and need human judgment to find. Alta likely wins when your motion is repeatable, you have someone to own it, and volume across channels is what's missing.

Either way, the fair unit is all-in monthly cost divided by opportunities your sales team accepts, not meetings booked. For the fuller math, see AI SDR or junior SDR? and what an AI SDR really costs. If you're leaning toward the hire, read Audienti vs hiring an SDR.

Alta vs Audienti

  • Who operates it. Alta is a platform your team buys and configures; its agents run the outreach. Audienti is run by our operators; your team takes the meetings.
  • Who sends. Audienti runs from three credible people on your team, from their own profiles, the people your buyers want to hear from.
  • Price. Alta quotes. Audienti is $7,500 a month for three people with a 90-day initial term, published on our pricing page.
  • What counts as success. Alta talks about qualified leads, replies and meetings. Audienti measures opportunities your team accepts in your CRM. Run your own numbers in the opportunity model.

Is Alta safe for your LinkedIn account?

Alta lists LinkedIn as an outreach channel (Katie page). LinkedIn's own policy prohibits third-party software that automates activity on its site and says accounts using such tools risk restriction (LinkedIn Help).

That policy applies to every automation tool and to services like Audienti that work through LinkedIn accounts. We do not call any option "safe." The question is whether the operating model fits your risk tolerance. More: Can you automate LinkedIn outreach without getting restricted?

How does Audienti work?

Audienti is a managed prospecting service. Here is how it works:

  1. Premise. We build a written premise: why a specific buyer should care now, tied to what your company does and who it helps.
  2. Signals. We watch for live signals—job changes, funding, content engagement, company news—that make the premise true for a specific person.
  3. Research. When a signal fires, we research the person, their company, and their situation to find the genuine opening.
  4. Outreach. Outreach goes from your team's own LinkedIn profiles; email is a secondary channel, not volume-driven. New buyer-facing messages get human review until the system has learned your voice; our operators do the reviewing by default.
  5. CRM sync. Everything lands in your CRM with the signal that surfaced each prospect. Your team takes the meeting and accepts or rejects the opportunity.

Meetings with the right people. Opportunities Knit could work.

Knit sells vendor-performance management to enterprise CIOs and their teams. Knit wanted more qualified pipeline from its own team. With Audienti, Knit reached relevant buyers, booked meetings, and turned those conversations into opportunities in its own pipeline. Prospects and their activity appeared in Knit's HubSpot, so Matt and his team could see the work and advance the relationships.

“The meetings were with the right people, and they became opportunities in our pipeline.”

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Alta, hiring a junior SDR, and how Audienti compares.

Is Alta worth it compared to hiring a junior SDR?

It depends on what you need the role to do. Alta's Katie automates prospecting, multichannel outreach and scheduling, and Alta quotes the price rather than publishing it. A junior SDR costs a median $80K OTE (The Bridge Group, 2025), takes about three months to ramp, and can carry nuanced conversations and calls. Get Alta's quote, add the time someone on your team spends running it, and compare both on cost per opportunity your sales team accepts, not on meetings booked.

How much does Alta cost?

Alta does not publish a price. On October 29, 2026 its pricing page was a quote form (team size bands 1-10, 11-500, 501-2,000, 2,000+) and its FAQ said pricing depends on volume, team size and channels used (email, LinkedIn or calls). Third-party review site Agent Finder estimates about $2,000 a month for a Starter tier and $3,500 for Growth; those are Agent Finder's estimates, not Alta's prices.

Does Alta have a free trial or monthly plan?

We found no free trial, self-serve checkout or stated minimum term on Alta's pricing page or FAQ on October 29, 2026. Agent Finder's review says Alta offers a pilot period. Ask Alta for the term and pilot terms in writing.

What does Katie do?

Alta describes Katie as an AI outbound agent that finds prospects using your CRM and 50+ data sources, sends personalized follow-ups across email, LinkedIn and text, and handles meeting scheduling. Alta also sells Alex (inbound qualification) and Luna (growth/orchestration) agents on the same platform.

When does hiring a junior SDR still win?

When you want prospecting built in-house as a permanent role and a future AE bench, when your deals need nuanced live conversations and calls, and when you have a manager with time to coach and run the role.

Is Alta safe to use with LinkedIn?

Alta lists LinkedIn as an outreach channel. LinkedIn's policy prohibits third-party software that automates activity on its site, and says accounts using such tools risk restriction. The same policy applies to any service working through LinkedIn accounts, including Audienti.

Alta vs Audienti: what's the difference?
